Hey everyone! I’m back with another insightful update on my journey through Marisa Peer’s “I Am Enough” program. Week 5, focusing on “Health and Managing Pain,” provided a profound understanding of how our beliefs deeply impact our health and wellness.

A Quick Recap: In the previous weeks, we navigated through self-belief, emotional resilience, wealth mindset, and now, we’ve arrived at a crucial aspect of our lives – our health.

Week 5 Highlights:

  • Health in Our Hands: This week, Marisa emphasized that our health is largely influenced by our beliefs and emotions. She challenged the notion that our well-being is solely in the hands of medical professionals.
  • Subconscious Beliefs and Health: We delved into how our health-related decisions are often responses to our subconscious beliefs rather than rational thoughts. This revelation made me reassess my past health choices and their outcomes.
  • The Power of the Mind in Managing Pain: Marisa discussed how the mind can be used to manage pain, citing the placebo effect as an example of the mind’s influence over physical well-being.
  • The ‘Rule of Four R’s’: A key takeaway was the ‘Rule of Four R’s’ – a guide for nurturing a healthier relationship with our bodies and food.
  • Emotion vs. Logic in Health Choices: This week brought to light the battle between emotion and logic in making health-related decisions. Marisa explained why diets often fail in the long term – they address eating habits without altering the underlying belief system.
  • Redefining Health Beliefs: We were encouraged to reflect on the health messages we received in childhood and redefine our current health beliefs.
  • Marisa’s Rules of Healthy Living: Practical guidelines for healthier living were presented, including tips on sleep, diet, hydration, and exercise.
  • Changing Limiting Beliefs: The program introduced a process for transforming limiting beliefs about health, involving investigating, interpreting, interrupting, and installing new beliefs.

The Rule of Four R’s’:
In Week 5, Marisa Peer introduced the “Rule of Four R’s,” a guideline to foster a healthy relationship with food and our bodies. This rule emphasizes recognizing and responding to our body’s natural needs, respecting our health by making conscious choices, and reprogramming our beliefs about diet and lifestyle for sustainable wellness.

Marisa’s Rules of Healthy Living
Sleep – An hour of sleep before midnight is worth more than an hour after it. At 2 am,
your body starts to repair itself, and it cannot do that if it is digesting the food you ate
late in the evening.

Eat healthily – Implement healthier food swaps. And when choosing food, ask yourself
Marisa’s 5 R’s questions:

  1. Does it Roam or grow on the planet?
  2. Could I eat this food Raw if necessary?
  3. Does this food Rot naturally?
  4. Can I Recognize all the ingredients?
  5. Can I Recreate this in my kitchen (i.e., not in a factory)?

Embracing Long-Term Health Over Instant Gratification: In Week 5, Marisa Peer emphasized the importance of focusing on long-term health goals instead of yielding to instant gratification. She advises asking critical questions before indulging in unhealthy food choices, prompting a reflection on how these choices affect our overall health and wellbeing.

The Power of Exercise: Marisa also highlighted the unparalleled benefits of regular exercise in maintaining health and slowing down the aging process.

Health as Identity, Not Just Action: A profound takeaway was the concept of health as part of our identity. Marisa states, “You have to decide, ‘This is who I am,’ not, ‘This is what I do.'” When health becomes an integral part of who we are, healthy choices naturally become non-negotiable and a constant in our lives.

Discussion on Hypnosis:

A pivotal part of each week, including Week 5, was the hypnosis sessions. These sessions, integral to the “I Am Enough” program, are where profound transformations begin. In Week 5, the hypnosis was tailored towards addressing our subconscious beliefs about health and pain management. Through these sessions, we were guided to release negative beliefs and reinforce positive, empowering thoughts about our bodies and overall well-being.

Personal Reflections: Reflecting on my emotional responses to health and diet was eye-opening. I realized that my struggles with maintaining a healthy lifestyle were less about choice and more about deep-seated beliefs.

Provoking Questions for You:

  • What subconscious beliefs might be influencing your health choices?
  • How do your emotions impact your relationship with food and exercise?

Week 5 of “I Am Enough” has been an enlightening exploration into the intricate relationship between our mind, beliefs, and health. It’s become clear that achieving lasting health is about more than just physical actions; it involves transforming our inner beliefs and emotional responses.
